Good evening, Respected Sr. Arina, Mrs. Fernandes, sisters, teachers and my dear friends.
It is indeed an honour to deliver this valedictory speech on behalf of the class of 2012-2013. It is said that ‘the greatest journeys in life begin with the smallest steps’. My journey of 12 years in this school began with a small step through the gates of the Schoen house and today it is that very step which has led me through the doors of an extra-ordinary school in which my great journey of self-discovery and self-development began.

I recall the events like the annual day, school feast day, teachers day, children’s day, sports day, helper’s day, Christmas and Diwali celebrations, socials, dramatics, debates, elocution, declamation, the art and craft competitions and much more .All these competitions and celebrations have moulded us into what we are today. Throughout my 12 years, I have come across many people who have left their mark in my life, whose kind words, encouraging pat on my back and friendship are forever etched in my heart.

People often say, that when God wishes to bless us ,he does not send us unlimited riches, but he sends people as blessings into our lives. Hence, today on behalf of the batch of 2012-2013, it is my honour to extend my sincere thanks to our principal Sr. Arina, our loving teachers, sisters of the congregation of Jesus & Mary, the office staff and the helpers whose footprints have shaped my life and my character. You are my role models, my heroes but most importantly my friends. I would like to thank the three most important people in my life, my mother, my father and my sister, Fevina. You area blessing for which I will always be grateful to God, your support, love and patience have made my journey of 12 years in this school possible.

Robert Louis Stevenson once said,’Your success is determined, not in the harvest you reap, but in the seeds you plant’. To all of you who have played an important role in my life, you planted seeds in us, you have cultivated us with love and knowledge over the years and have watched us grow. Today, we are the fruits of your labour. However the season has now come and we are ready to be uprooted from familiar ground and taken from your care. Thank you for helping these seeds grow into strongly rooted trees that can withstand the parasites of misunderstanding, the winds of ignorance and the waters of miscommunication.

Last but not the least I would like to thank my team of office bearers-Vanessa, Vasuda, Simoni, Sangeetika, Priyanshi, Lubna, Zaynah and all the assistants for their undying support. I wish the new Head-girl Kimberly Moniz and her team all the best for the coming academic year, may you keep the flag of Convent of Jesus and Maryflyinghigh.Tothe batch of 2012-2013 as well as 2013-2014,1 wish you all the best for the future. Before I say goodbye, I would like to confess that the most difficult part in this valedictory speech is not only the fact that I have to bid farewell to those people who have become my family, but also the fact that I have to
express, what to me is inexpressible-the love, the pride, the gratitude and appreciation that I feel towards my school and the people who moulded me into what I am today. Before I conclude I would like to thank all the participants of the function and congratulations to all the prizewinners. I hope you will be in the pink of health and humour and keep in mind our school motto, “From darkness lead me to light”. I would like to say Good luck, Good health God bless till we meet again.
