Mrs Edwina Lemos expressed her gratitude through a speech. Sister Angela in her speech thanked Mrs. Pereira for her dedicated service to the institution for the past 21 years. Thereafter, the thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration was organised by Sister Angela at 11:30 am. Father Cliffton Mendonca– Assistant Parish Priest from the Holy Name Cathedral celebrated this mass. The liturgy was prepared by Sr Angela, for Mrs Leena Pereira and her family for their good health and future endeavour which was well expressed through the theme “BLESSING AS YOU ENTER A NEW PHASE OF LIFE”.
Father Cliffton in his sermon said that we teachers need to be impartial, honour others and consider that someone is better than you and there is someone worse than you which will help us to grow in life. Retirement is not the end of everything but it’s a new beginning and it’s time to experiment with new things and keep oneself busy.
This was followed by sumptuous lunch arranged by Mrs. Leena Pereira. All the staff wished Mrs. Pereira good health and long life.
